What do you think of all the construction on campus? It’s been a pain for sure, but at least the Science & Mathematics Center is done…and good news: this product of BSU construction won’t make you late to class for any reason and actually makes sense (unlike BSU’s new parking philosophy). But what’s so great about the new building anyway?
Let’s start on the ground floor. Check out the beautiful indoor foliage complete with mini bamboo trees. It’s a nice touch and makes it a great place to sit.
How many bottles of water do you drink a day? One? Two? Well, the building is equipped with water tin fillers where you can fill up your reusable water bottle for free! It even has a tally of how many water bottles were saved from landfills because of it. Refreshing.
If I had to describe this building in one word, it would be “green.” From the Chem labs to the toilets, everything is super eco-friendly- especially T the recycling stations on each floor. This might seem kinda basic, but the fact that recycle stations outnumber trash barrels is pretty awesome.
I could definitely see myself hanging out in this building and the student lounges on each floor provide a great place to do that. Each of them has plenty of seating, a large whiteboard, plenty of power outlets, and a unique view of the campus. I know where I’ll be writing my papers this year!
So what do you think of the new Science center? How are the labs? Can anyone get me into the observatory?
